• Drive from Cape Town on the N1 past the Bellville & Brackenfell off-ramps

• Carry on straight past the Engen Winelands 1-stop service station

• Carry on past the first Stellenbosch off-ramp

• Take the Stellenbosch / Klapmuts off-ramp then turn right at the stop

• Carry on for approximately 500m & pass over the 4-way stop

• Shortly after the 4-way stop turn left at the Franschhoek sign

• Carry on with this road until it ends at a T-junction right after the railway tracks

• Turn right on the way to Franschhoek (Please note that road construction works are still underway for quite some time on the R45 and R310, so expect delays) An alternative is to continue on the N1 take exit 59 Jan van Riebeeck and follow the R301 to Wemmershoek and then take a left on the R45 direction Franschhoek.

• Otherwise, from the R45 and this road will take you straight into Franschhoek

• Drive through the town of Franschhoek, until you get to a T-junction at the end of the town (you will see the monument in front of you)

• Turn right onto Excelsior Rd

• Slight left onto Verdun Rd

• Turn right to stay on Verdun Rd

• Follow the road until you get to the gate of The Lakehouse at Val du Lac (on your right)

• Ring the gate bell and enter the gate

• The house is on your immediate right-hand side
